Steamed Pork Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce

The pork ribs are juicy and tender and it’s marinade with fragrant savory black bean sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp black bean garlic sauce
  • 2½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1.5 lb pork spare ribs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 stalk scallion, chopped
  • 4 thai chili peppers, chopped (optional)

Directions

  • Add all the sauce ingredients to a small bowl and mix well.
  • Combine pork ribs with the sauce in a bowl and mix well.
  • Cover and marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Set steaming rack inside of wok and fill with water almost up to height of rack. Turn heat to high and when water is boiling, turn heat to medium-high.
  • Place the pork spare ribs on the rack. Cover and steam the ribs until just cooked through, about 25 minutes.
  • Remove the ribs from the wok and garnish with chopped scallions and chili peppers.
  • Serve immediately with steamed rice!

*Note

  • Remove oil from the pork ribs after steaming, if needed.
