Stir-Fried Pork Belly (Jeyuk Bokkeum)

A spicy and sweet stir-fried pork that goes really well with the lettuce and rice.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Gochujang sauce
  • ½ tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • ½ tsp hot pepper flakes
  • ⅛ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 lb pork belly, thinly sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 6 sliced ginger
  • lettuce, to serve
  • toasted sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • kimchi, to serve (optional)
  • steamed rice

Directions

  • In a small bowl combine the sauce ingredients and mix well.
  • Preheat the wok over high heat and add oil. Add pork and stir-fry for 1 minute or until slightly caramelized.
  • Add onion, ginger and garlic and cook for 3 minutes or until cook through.
  • Serve with steamed rice and lettuce for wrapping if desired. Garnish the stir-fried pork with toasted sesame seeds.
